Smart devices have made downloading and displaying in-transit temperature data more convenient and reliable. They have the ability to save companies hours of data entry and labor costs. Best of all, it helps keep the food you’re shipping fresh and safe. With a simple, free Lightning App download, your NFC (Near Filed Communications) Android smart device can wirelessly download and display in-transit temperature data from Cargo Data’s Lightning NFC temperature recorders. All temperature data is automatically sent to the cloud, where it is archived for easy sharing and review.
Wireless Temperature Monitoring
Cargo Data’s new Lightning Real-Time temperature monitoring instruments regularly report temperature data to The Cloud while the shipment is in-transit. Our system issues alert texts and emails if shipment temperatures exceed safe limits while in-transit. Temperature data is uploaded to The Cloud, along with location and door status. Because the device sends data to the cloud during the whole trip, there is no longer a need for personnel to physically retrieve and download the instrument upon arrival.
How to View Temperature Data
To view and download the cold chain’s temperature data collected from both Lightning NFC and Lightning Real Time, head to cargodatacorp.com and enter the instrument serial number in the orange UpLink field. Not only can data be viewed after you reach your destination, but temperature and location data from Lightning Real Time instruments can be viewed while the shipment is in-transit, reducing the chance of food spoilage. If desired, the temperature data can be downloaded and saved in .pdf and/or .csv formats. It remains available online for 6 months, which means no more hard copies. Additionally, Cargo Data provides password-protected “dashboard” access where authorized users can view data from all active and previously active instruments.
